Copyright permission templates
The following page contains templates for Curtin staff seeking to obtain permission to use certain types of content.
Accordion
For Curtin staff who plan to store and share guest lectures for educational, promotional, and/or commercial purposes.
Note: If the event is capturing individuals or groups and they are not presenting pre-prepared lectures and/or visual presentations, you should complete the Talent Consent Form instead.
For the following situations we suggest you do not use the template and instead speak with Curtin Legal Services to draft an alternative permission document:
If the speaker(s) wants to modify the terms of the permission and release.
Where the event contains Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property.
If you plan to sub-licence the content containing the speaker(s).
This form should be downloaded, completed and sent to the guest for signing. The Curtin Signatory should be local area contact who has engaged the speaker as a guest.
For Curtin staff who plan to use students works for educational purposes (e.g. to use to demonstrate exemplars of assessment submissions).
For Curtin staff requesting permission from publishers to communicate supplementary materials for teaching purposes (eg. workbooks, answer guides, supplementary websites).
